Eyebrow Tattoo:
What to expect
What is Hyper Realism Eyebrow Tattoo?
Hyper realism brows is an advanced and artistic technique in eyebrow tattoo that creates an extremely lifelike appearance. The treatment involves creating ultra fine, hair-like strokes to mimic the natural growth pattern of real eyebrow hairs, resulting in a fuller and more defined look. The goal is to enhance your brows while keeping them looking natural. Pigments (inks) are all mixed bespoke to match your hair colour and skin tone closely. Hyper realism brows are popular for those who have alopecia creating ultra realistic results. Also ideal for people who have over plucked or those who want a long lasting and naturally fuller eyebrow.
What is the difference between microblading and hyper realism brow tattoo?
Microblading involves using a manual tool with a blade that cuts into the skin's surface. It typically deposits semi-permanent pigment but is prone to migration under the skin - creating a block like appearance over time due to cutting deep into the skin. Hyper Realism Brow Tattoo is a gentle technique creating soft flowing life-like hairs tailored to your skin, face and hair, rather than a uniform ‘one size fits all’ approach to hairstrokes - that you can often see with microblading. No templates are used with my technique and the pre-drawing is created by hand and completely tailored to you.
How long does it take?
Hyper realism permanent eyebrow tattoo takes around 2-3 hours per session, including your consultation and pre drawing with a pencil for your approval.
What happens during an eyebrow tattoo treatment?
There’ll be a consultation where we’ll discuss your desired look and take into account your natural colouring and face shape. I’ll then pre-draw with a pencil your tailored hyper realism brows so you can see how they will look before the tattoo is started. This also gives you an opportunity to adjust and tweak the shape until you’re happy with it. If you don’t know what you want, that isn’t a problem as I always recommend something to suit your face and features. I’m here to ensure you get the best result.
Does permanent eyebrow tattoo hurt?
Most people find that discomfort is very minimal, and much more gentle than microblading. I use a good numbing cream throughout your eyebrow tattooing treatment and I’m gentle. In fact most people fall asleep or chat throughout!
How long does hyper realism eyebrow tattoo last?
Hyper realism brow tattoo lasts around 3 years if you were never to get a top up again, however most people love their results and come back each year for a top up to keep them perfect and to last permanently.
Will I be able to go to work straight after eyebrow tattoo, or out that night?
Yes. Most people aren’t even red immediately after their treatment and unlike powder brow or block brows they will look natural right away. For those who have sensitive skin you may be red for an hour or so after the treatment, but that's about it.
How do I prepare for my permanent eyebrow tattoo?
Avoid alcohol the night before and stay hydrated. On the day please avoid caffeine (I know I’m sorry!) and any energy drinks or Aspirin and Ibuprofen - it makes your blood vessels come to the surface and will make the treatment hurt more and your skin sensitive. It can also lead to retaining less pigment affecting your results and your investment.
Why do I need two sessions?
Yes, everyone needs two sessions and if you’re having a cover up of old microblading or ‘hyper realism for alopecia brows’ you may need 3 sessions. This also allows the new eyebrows to be adjusted and built up carefully, meaning colour choice and fullness can be added to on the second session if desired, once I have seen how the colour in the skin has healed. Rather than going too dark or too full, I prefer to take a less is more approach that can be adjusted to create the most natural lifelike results. Additionally, unlike a body tattoo the process is much more gentle on the face and inks are developed especially for the purpose, to build up over sessions in a soft and natural way. The pressure used is also much more gentle and slower than a traditional tattoo on say the arm, and the needles are super teeny and don’t penetrate as hard which means the results have to be built up over two sessions.
What is the aftercare for hyper realism eyebrow tattoo?
You will leave loving your new eyebrows! They won’t look harsh and will look natural right away. You may find the next day they can be slightly darker in colour however this will only be by about half a shade, so only you are likely to notice. The main thing is to keep them dry and avoid water or washing on the brow area for 10 days, along with any swimming and sunbeds. You will be given a cream to apply each night. You can go to the gym a few days later but avoid excessive very sweaty workouts for a week after the treatment.
